Alan Kessman

With a strong financial background and a wealth of experience in turnarounds and growth management, Mr. Kessman’s expertise spans all phases of growing and developing organizations. His industry focus has been in telecommunications (equipment, software, services, and network), healthcare and Internet e-commerce. Mr. Kessman is currently leading Vion Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on cancer drug discovery and development. He is a Principal at PS Capital LLC. Additionally, on behalf of PS Capital, Mr. Kessman is the lead Director on the Board of Iris Wireless.

Formerly, Mr. Kessman was the founder, President and CEO of ISOETEC Communications, Inc., a telecommunications company delivering application specific software solutions to small to mid-sized businesses. Within five years, ISOETEC had achieved revenues of $100 million and $6 million in net income, and became recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in the US. ISOETEC later merged with Vodavi Communications, which then acquired Contel Executone, and the consolidated company became Executone Information Systems, Inc. Mr. Kessman remained the President and CEO of Executone Information Systems, where any of the businesses losing money turned profitable, all the debt was paid off early and the Company was de-leveraged, resulting in a strong balance sheet.

Mr. Kessman, prior to Executone, was Vice President of Rolm Corporation (later sold to IBM), responsible for four operating subsidiaries covering the eastern United States with revenues of approximately $300 million. Mr. Kessman’s strategic planning for Rolm’s direct sales operation drove the Company’s growth from $30 million to $750 million.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Kessman served as Executive Vice President and COO of Tele Resources. Mr. Kessman re-organized and restructured Tele Resources, bringing the company from an $8 million revenue base preparing to file bankruptcy on the day he joined to over $75 million in revenues.

Mr. Kessman received his BA from Lehigh University.
