Henry A. Sweetbaum
Mr. Sweetbaum has an extensive background in the computer and telecommunications industries. He has successfully engineered turnarounds, restructurings and reorganizations within and outside of the tech-sector, and has had many years experience in mergers and acquisitions, both on the sell and the buy sides. Mr. Sweetbaum is a principal of PS Capital, LLC, an advisory and venture investment company.
Previously Mr. Sweetbaum was Chairman and Chief Executive of Wickes plc, a pan-European retailer with sales of approximately $1billion. At Daylin, Inc. Mr. Sweetbaum participated in the successful reorganization of the Company through Chapter 11 and its sale to WR Grace. In the UK Mr. Sweetbaum served as Chairman of Huntingdon Securities focussed on corporate turnarounds, M&A and private investments.
Mr. Sweetbaum has spent more than 30-years serving as a Non-Executive Director of numerous companies, such as Silicon Systems Inc., Ashton Tate Corporation and Decision Data Corporation. He also served as Non-Executive Chairman of Data Recording Instrument Company Limited, a British Government owned company.
He is currently a member of the Investment Committee of Accelerator Technology Holdings Limited, a company registered in Bahrain, and a member of the Advisory Board of Inovent, a company formed by Sabanci University in Istanbul, to commercialise technology developed in Turkey.
Mr. Sweetbaum has published Restructuring - The Management Challenge (Baden-Fuller 1990) and Best Practices, or Just Best People (Directors & Boards - Summer 1995 edition).
Mr. Sweetbaum recently retired from the Board of Overseers at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a member of Wharton's European Advisory Board and the Board of the SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management.
